Members support soldiers with filled stockings

Pictured at right with some of the more than 1,800 Christmas stockings, filled by members of the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs (NJSFWC) of GFWC are, from left, NJSFWC Education Chairman Vivien Finn, NJSFWC Public Issues Chairman and Chairman of the Boatsie’s Project Judith Ambrus, NJSFWC President Patty Whitehouse, NJSFWC International Outreach Chairman Carol Swinburne and NJSFWC Financial Secretary, Gail Kovacs-Felici.
The federation gathered the forces of its 193 clubs and 9,200 members throughout the state to support "Boatsie's Boxes Operation Christmas Stocking" project by purchasing and filling Christmas stockings for U.S. soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The stockings brimming with goodies will be delivered to Wheeling, W.V., where Boatsie's Boxes is headquartered. The stockings were very generously transported to West Virginia by ThyssenKrupp VDM USA Inc., a trucking company located in Florham Park.

Come visit NJSFWC Headquarters

(10/15/2010) The New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs (NJSFWC) of GFWC will hold an open house at their New Brunswick Headquarters, located on the Douglass Residential Campus, on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Club members and guests will have the opportunity to meet the new dean of Douglass Residential College, Dr. Jacquelyn Litt, tour the Headquarters building, which was built with trading stamps in 1966, and learn how the club women of the early 1900s came to found the New Jersey College for Women, later re-named, Douglass College, for its first dean.

Reservations are required, so please call Headquarters Chairman Carol Niemiec at (732) 249-2676 or e-mail to register. Federation Headquarters is located at 55 Labor Center Way, New Brunswick.
