Two-second Turn-off Day

(9/23/2010) Last week, nine NJSFWC clubwomen and two of their daughters were part of the plaza audience of "The Early Show" on CBS to show our support for Two-second Turn-off Day on Sept. 17. We were partnering with GFWC, AAA, Seventeen Magazine and the Department of Transportation to highlight the dangers of using cell phones while driving. You may have seen us in our pink shirts waiving our signs. It was a wonderful time!
See photo on your right.

If you were unable to join us last week, you have an opportunity on Sept. 30 to show your support of the Special State Project, by joining Gilda’s Club of Northern N.J. in the studio crowd for the "Good Morning America" show located at Times Square in NYC. Everyone is asked to wear one of the Gilda’s Club eye-catching T-shirts which are available for sale at $20 each (the T-shirts are a fund-raiser for Gilda’s Club.) If you are interested in joining this group, contact Dyane McMahon at (201) 880-4739 so your shirt can be ordered and for details regarding meeting time and location. You do not want to miss it! Don't forget your camera!

Fall District Councils under way

(9/16/2010) The NJSFWC Clubs in New Jersey are divided up into eight Districts and each District will be holding a Fall Council. Club Presidents are introduced and State and District business is attended to.
Besides important information and business announced, club members have the chance to socialize with members from other clubs in their District.
A "Done in One" Project is also being held at each council meeting:
Operation Write Home - We will be making cards to send to our troops
Please bring fancy/colored paper, embellishments (nothing with sparkles), rubber stamps, scissors and a glue stick. Anything you think would make a beautiful card.
See photo at right with some club women busy with their card making!
